How to make natural upholstery cleaner
Written by The Foam Factory
The majority of cleaning solutions available today are chemical-based cleansers. These chemical cleaners replaced the ordinary home products that everyone used for household cleaning. Do the chemical-based versions clean better? Yes. However, that comes at a price. Most cleaning products contain toxic or hazardous chemicals that are harmful to the user and the environment. Fortunately, the number of people conscious of damage to the environment is growing, and with it, the use of homemade cleaners. Here is a recipe for making cleaning solutions at home that will leave visitors to think you got new cushions:
This recipe is for the fabric upholstery that goes over your custom foam cushions:
Mix 1/4 cup white vinegar, 3/4 cup warm water and 1/2 tablespoon of any natural liquid soap. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle and shake vigorously to combine the ingredients.
Spray the soiled area lightly with a mist from the spray bottle.
Scrub the area in a circular motion with a soft cloth. This way the cleanser works its way into the weave of the fabric.
Keep applying until the area is clear of any imperfections. Since the mixture is natural, there is no danger of damaging the fabric.
Speed up the drying process by blotting the wet area with a dry cloth.
Use the above recipe for any fabric based cover or chair. You can even use the spray on chairs that have the upholstery attached. The smell of vinegar will disappear after a few hours.
